The Indians are now tied with the Detroit Tigers for first place in the AL Central after another impressive pitching exhibition by Fausto Carmona. Fausto struck out a career high 10 batters which gave him his 14th win and helped the Indians to split the two game series with the Tigers. Fausto ended his three game losing streak, allowed one earned run and four hits in the eight inning decision. Franklin Gutierrez hit a two-run homer for Cleveland, which snapped a four-game losing streak that included last weekends three game sweep by the New York Yankees. When they lost Tuesday night to the Tigers, things were looking pretty bad but after last nights victory they’re right where they need to be.

The Indians have the day off today (Thursday) and then it’s off to Tampa Bay for a three game series against the Devil Rays (46-74) who have been struggling to put anything together so it looks good for the tribe. Then it’s off to Detriot for another three game series against the Tigers. With any luck the Indians will sweep the Rays and the Tigers will get swept in their four game series with the Yankees.
